Located a few miles of north of Tyndall, Manitoba, the geographical centre of North America, the Wildwood Honey Farm, is located on the southern edge of an old growth forest bordering on the north eastern border of the Manitoba prairie.
The wildwood apiary is set among a mature forest consisting of boreal species (White Spruce and Fir) mixed with Aspen Parkland Species (Popular, Aspen, Oak, and Elm) with Yellow Slipper Orchids.
A Viceroy Butterfly, with its wings spread out to the setting prairie sun, casually licks the honey off a beekeeper's glove. A bee hovering just to the right investigates the orange intruder.
